With CEP since 2019, 15 years of experience. Ahmad Shahroodi, MASc., P.Eng. joined the Civil Engineering team at our Ottawa office in August 2019, as a Senior Civil Engineer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) from Iran and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering (NDT of Concrete Structures) from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining CEP, Ahmad worked as a project manager, structural designer, forensic engineer, and quality control manager in many structural and infrastructure projects in Toronto and Ottawa.
Ahmad is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Ontario. He is also an associate member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI)-Committee 228 (Non-destructive Testing of Concrete) and a voting member of the ACI-Committee 228-B (Inspection of Structures). In addition, he is an active member of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering (CSCE).
Having worked as a designer/project manager/QC manager in the concrete industry (ready-mix and precast), he is familiar with the testing, capabilities and possible issues with concrete. In the world of forensic engineering, Ahmad has worked on both infrastructure (sewers, tunnels, culverts, bridges, retaining walls, and underground electrical utility vaults) and structural projects (building, municipal and highway paving, and concrete sidewalks). This experience, coupled with his skills in structural design means Ahmad has an excellent understanding of structure/infrastructure behaviour under various types of loading and damage.
As a forensic expert, Ahmad conducts investigations on a variety of failures and prepares expert reports to identify the cause of the damage/collapse and determine its extent. If required, Ahmad offers detailed inspection methods (destructive and non-destructive). In addition, Ahmad can design rehabilitation methods for damaged structures. Ahmad’s forensic reports and expertise have been referred to in several over province projects.
