Ashley Beckman completed her Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering in 2010 at the University of Alberta. After graduation, Ashley worked at a forensic engineering firm in Alberta . She is registered as a professional engineer in British Columbia (EGBC) and Alberta (APEGA) and received her Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) designation in 2014 from the National Association of Fire Investigators.
As a forensic engineer, Ashley has been involved in material failure analysis and property damage investigations for industrial, insurance and law firm clients. She has analyzed a variety of failures including engine components, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment failures and, for product liability and subrogation potential. Her investigations have included numerous polymeric, steel and brass components. Ashley has also investigated a wide variety of fire and explosion incidents involving residential and industrial buildings, tractor trailer vehicles and mobile cranes. In addition to materials and failure analysis, Ashley has become involved in motor vehicle collision analysis and is a Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) technician.
