GENERAL INFORMATION
Bentley Rice joined CEP’s Fire and Explosion team in 2025 after nearly 28 years in public service with the Province of Nova Scotia, working across various government departments. For the last 14 years of his career, he served with the Office of the Fire Marshal, where he conducted fire investigations, performed fire inspections, and led public education and fire prevention initiatives. In addition to his field experience, Bentley has been an adjunct fire service instructor for over 25 years, delivering training to both public and private sector clients.
In recent years, he has specialized in technical instruction, covering topics such as fire investigation for first responders, strategy and tactics, NFPA 921 (Fire and Explosion Investigations), NFPA 472 (Hazardous Materials), and occupational health and safety.
Bentley is based out of Halifax, further enhancing our reach and capability in the region.
EXPERTISE
As a forensic investigator with CEP, Bentley conducts on-site accident investigations and prepares forensic reports. Over the course of his career, he has investigated more than 300 fires.
