GENERAL INFORMATION
Daniel Olivier joined CEP’s Montreal multidisciplinary team in September 2013 as a Fire and Explosion Forensic Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. Prior to joining CEP, Daniel has spent over 16 years in the stove and fireplace industry, during which period he has completed more than 8000 inspections. He has also given lectures on the field’s codes and standards across the province. Daniel is a member of the CSA B365 and CSA-B415 technical committees, and he has been recognized as an expert witness, taking the stand in numerous court cases.
EXPERTISE
As a forensic engineer, Daniel carries out on-site accident investigations and prepares expert reports. During his years as forensic engineer, he has conducted laboratory tests and simulations to verify hypotheses on the nature and cause of accidents.
As of today, he has performed over 630 investigations for CEP
