GENERAL INFORMATION
Emilija Ilic holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering; and, in 2019, obtained her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from EPFL in Switzerland. Her doctoral thesis examined the corrosion and degradation mechanisms of biomedical implants. After her studies, Ms. Ilic worked in the petrochemicals industry, where she supervised research and development projects, focusing on the preservation of process equipment.
EXPERTISE
As a Forensic Investigator, Emilija conducts on-site and in-lab examinations for all types of failure analyses. To aid in her investigations, Emilija uses various material characterization methods; these practices include, but are not limited to, fractography, microscopy, and stress tests.
Emilija’s profession excelled when she developed an expertise in corrosion and material interfaces. Over the course of her career, she has also contributed to numerous scientific publications.
With her broad depth of knowledge and her vast experience as a forensic and materials engineer, Ms. Ilic conducts on-site inspections, attends joint examinations, and prepares expert reports.
