GENERAL INFORMATION
Laurent Fortier holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal with a specialty in design and manufacturing. Following his studies, he worked for eight years as a collision and vehicle defect investigator for Transport Canada. Since 2014, he has worked as a forensic engineer specializing in mechanical systems and vehicles.
EXPERTISE
As a forensic engineer, Laurent conducts technical investigations related to mechanical equipment, with a focus on various types of vehicles. Failures, fires, thefts, and collisions are his primary areas of expertise. He is capable of analyzing the operation of airbags and other protective devices, as well as collecting and analyzing various electronic data recorded by a vehicle.
To date, he has conducted over 1,200 examinations and has been recognized as an expert witness in court on multiple occasions.
