GENERAL INFORMATION

Brad has served as a sworn police officer since 2008 with both the Calgary Police Service and The Ottawa Police Service. As a retired member of the Ottawa Police Service, he was assigned to the Major Crime Investigations Branch, Serious and Organized Crime Section – Fatal Collision Investigations, where he worked as a Detective/Reconstructionist after completing Level IV Collision Reconstruction Certification.

Brad was also a Certified Forensic Mechanic with the Ottawa Police Service and served as the coordinator of the Forensic Mechanic Unit. He has been a member of the Canadian Association of Traffic Accident Investigators and Reconstructionists (CATAIR) since 2021. Brad also holds an Ontario College of Trades Journeyperson Class 310S Automotive Service Technician Certification, obtained in 2000, and was a Professor of Transportation, Trades and Technology.

 

EXPERTISE

Brad is a Lead Collision Reconstructionist with specialized training and extensive expertise in motor vehicle collisions involving passenger vehicles, heavy equipment, recreational vehicles, bicycles, trains, motorcycles and pedestrians. As a Certified Forensic Mechanic he was responsible for carrying out forensic inspections and tear downs of vehicles and/or equipment to determine the root cause of collisions. Brad has provided expert witness testimony in court in both positions.
