GENERAL INFORMATION
Carla’s extensive forensic experience began shortly after her graduation from the University of Alberta in 2000. Carla specializes in the investigation of damaged structures, which includes fire and flood damaged buildings, code compliance and construction issues, and failures due to wind or snow loads, among others. Her familiarity and training in vibration analysis and other failure mechanisms lends her a substantial expertise for a wide range of potential issues. She has worked on projects of all sizes and types, including residential, commercial and industrial.
EXPERTISE
Carla’s expertise has been utilized by many insurers dealing with large scale losses caused by catastrophic weather events multiple times. She has provided advice and repair recommendations on thousands of buildings, including pre-fabricated buildings, industrial and commercial buildings as well as residential dwellings. Her comprehensive range of expertise includes everything from foundations to roof trusses and building envelope issues. She has provided reports for insurers, adjusters, governmental bodies and lawyers, and has testified in court.
