GENERAL INFORMATION
Laurent Fortier holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal with a specialization in design and manufacturing. Following his studies, he worked for 8 years as a vehicle collision and defect investigator for Transport Canada. Since 2014, he has been working as a forensic engineer in mechanics and vehicles.
EXPERTISE
As a forensic engineer, Laurent carries out technical investigations related to mechanical equipment and specializes in cases involving all types of vehicles. Failures, fires, thefts and collisions are his main areas of expertise. Laurent is able to analyze the operation of airbags and other protective devices as well as collect and analyze various electronic data recorded by a vehicle.
To date, Laurent has carried out over 1,200 investigations and has been recognized as an expert witness in numerous court cases.
