GENERAL INFORMATION
Matthew has experience in the analysis, design, and assessment of complex structural systems. He brings a blend of advanced research expertise and practical consulting experience across residential high-rise, institutional, and industrial structures. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from McMaster University, where his research focused on nonlinear structural behaviour and seismic performance of masonry and concrete systems. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
In 2022 he moved to the United States and applied this technical foundation to the design of a wide variety of structures, including post-tensioned concrete buildings, shear wall systems, steel and wood structures, as well as the evaluation and rehabilitation of existing facilities.
EXPERTISE
As a forensic structural engineer, Matthew specializes in the investigation and evaluation of structures affected by damage, deterioration, and performance deficiencies. His work includes on-site assessments, advanced analytical modelling, and the preparation of clear and defensible technical reports. Drawing on design experience, he is frequently relied upon to develop practical repair and retrofit strategies that address both the root causes of observed issues and long-term structural performance.
