Variety and Hacks
Jason has been with CEP for over two years as a building engineer and plays a big role in supporting the structural team nationally. He spends his days immersed in the variety of failures that come his way and preparing technical reports to identify the cause and extent of the damage. While he investigates structural failures, he especially enjoys investigating building envelope failures. One of his most useful hacks is using historical Google Street views and satellite images.
CEP Provides a Change
After spending 13 years in consulting, where he conducted building condition assessments and prepared specification for rehabilitation, Jason was looking for a career change and discovered CEP while researching forensic engineering and decided this was the field for him.
What he loves most and finds the most challenging is that every day is an unknown. Whether he spends the day examining roof failures, attic condensation issues, foundation concerns or window and wall leakage to being in the office analyzing what happened and providing clients with the cause of the damage.
Multiple Languages and Architecture
Jason hails from the great metropolis of Montreal, and now calls Toronto home, where he enjoys cycling and skiing and wandering through different neighbourhoods. As a child, he wanted to be an architect and admires the various architectural styles throughout the city.
Having lived in Ontario, Quebec, and Belgium, along with his eastern European roots, Jason has learned to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, making him the ultimate travel companion.
