Canada’s forensic engineering leader relaunches its brand to reflect recent growth

CEP Sintra, Canada’s largest independent forensic engineering firm, is consolidating its market presence under the banner of CEP Forensic. The change reflects continuing efforts to simplify the identity of its many locations, as well as for acquisitions and developments to come. On the heels of two strategic regional additions, CEP Forensic is now more focused than ever on what matters most for its clients: clear communication, efficient work and a strong partnership.

Since 1972, CEP Forensic has been investigating the causes of losses, disasters and incidents for insurers, legal professionals, risk managers and individuals. In 2017, after 45 years of operation, the company merged with Sintra Engineering to become the largest forensic engineering firm in Canada. More recently, Baker Materials Engineering was acquired and brought on board to expand our services in British Columbia. CEP Forensic currently has a team of nearly 80 experts across the country who are able to respond to all your forensic engineering needs. From its humble beginnings, CEP Forensic has grown to handle several thousand files annually for just as many clients.

Given its rapid growth in recent years, CEP Forensic has simplified its image and brand to allow it to be recognized for what it is: the leader in its field. The updated branding highlights CEP Forensic’s commitment to our clients by offering the best client experience on the market. This promise is reinforced by the words that back the letters in its name: C for clear communication, E for efficient execution, and P for partnership and presence.

Jean-François Joubert, President and CEO commented, “Sintra and CEP have been trusted names in the Canadian Forensic Engineering market for 20 and almost 50 years respectively. Following our recent merger, which was the inevitable outcome of our mutual visions to build a national company, we felt it was time to move forward with a new brand. I believe we have found the right balance between the old and the new, preserving our common values and culture.

I take this opportunity to thank all our Clients, from all over the Country (Atlantic to Pacific), without whom this enterprise would not have been possible. The new CEP Forensic promises full continuity in our service delivery and in the human relationship that has characterized both Sintra and CEP in the past. Our staff is ready to pursue this adventure, which brings us new challenges. As our quest continues; we are better equipped than ever to accompany both our local and national clients.”

Mark Hughes, Vice President, Western Canada added, “For over 20 years, Sintra Engineering’s clients in Western Canada have known and trusted our work. Now, under the banner of CEP Forensic, we can be part of offering those same services across the country and to be the first choice for insurance professionals, lawyers and risk managers for all their forensic engineering requirements.”

CEP Forensic’s future is bright, inspired, and optimistic, just like the new brand. With more resources and expertise at its fingertips than ever before, CEP Forensic is aiming to double down on its commitment to outstanding service while remaining loyal to its large client base and history of forensic engineering excellence.
